About

You may already know by now that the nature of this site is to promote my creative portfolio and the character design work that I love so much.
From a very young age I found I developed 'an itch' for drawing cartoons and creating characters just for the hell of it.

During Primary School I teamed up with a couple of friends to create a world of feline characters (that looked more like bears, I have since been told) and amassed a number of comic ideas for a series that we called Pumy and Cheety.

During a time when Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles were hanging out in dank sewers, eating pizza and hanging with journalist April O'Neill and cartoons such as Thudercats and He-Man were mainstream on television, I wanted a piece of the action and put pen to paper to create a score of my own - less convincing and poorly realised heroes.

A number of years passed and I defined an artistic style that is as prominent today as it was when I first etched cartoon shapes with my infant hands. Nowadays however, Pumy and Cheety are long gone (thank god!) and new ideas and characters continue to act as my creative verve everytime I sit down with some music and 'doodle'.

Throughout life I have been approached by others who have been quick to suggest that I have a talent for art and that I should be doing something about it. This is it - my portfolio is my way of taking action - to project my artwork to a wider audience and draw in attention from people that otherwise would never know my work even existed.

My inspirations take many forms, but if I were to narrow down a select few I would have to mention Matt Groening, who brought us The Simpsons and Futurama and over two decades of dumb-humour. Seth McFarlane is also a massive inspiration, a man responsible for seeing Matt Groening's work and raising it - in Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show.

Other inspirations include Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks for their amazing work in digital and conventional animation and the incredible characters they have brought to life throughout my lifetime.

As a keen video-gamer, I have to mention Square-Enix's Final Fantasy series, which dragged me into the realm of role playing games and hasn't let me go since.

Anyway, that's enough from me...

Please take a look around  my blog, the Portfolio section contains a number of art pieces I have created. Feel free to leave a comment or email me.
